Flat/Faulty Battery

Discovering that your vehicle has a flat battery is perhaps one of the most frustrating experiences, as it always happens at the most inconvenient time. 

A dead car battery can occur for multiple reasons, including cold weather, frequent short journeys, excessive strain and battery age. This is why flat car batteries are the number one reason for call-outs to breakdown services.

Our highly trained technician will soon be at your location and can test your battery's health and if it needs replacing, we’ll fit a new battery straight away or if the battery is holding a charge we can give you the jumpstart you need to get you back on the road.

Once we have performed the jumpstart we will allow the engine to run for at least 10min then switch it off to see if your vehicle will start again on its own.

The last thing we want is for this to happen again further disrupting your day. 

Avoiding Flat Batteries:

• Your car battery charges as you drive, but otherwise naturally loses a small amount of charge constantly. Older batteries have a lower capacity to hold charge and will go flat more quickly. Regular longer journeys of 30 minutes to an hour help to keep your battery charged and healthy. A car that isn’t used for long periods or is only used for short journeys that don’t allow the battery to fully recharge is more likely to suffer from a flat battery.
• Avoid using onboard electrical devices such as lights and stereo while the car is not running.
• Remember to turn off all lights when you leave the car.
• Consider replacing older batteries.
