Breaking down on a journey is always a disruptive experience, it can also be frightening, especially if you are on a long journey in an unfamiliar part of the country. If you find yourself in this breakdown scenario, Glenside Recovery can provide you with a fast, highly efficient and reliable service to repair the fault on the roadside or move your stranded vehicle to a safe place where it can be fixed by your mechanic.

Breakdown & Recovery

Our efficient office team are trained to promptly understand your exact location and dispatch the appropriate Glenside Recovery vehicle to you. Our recovery fleet is available for small hatchbacks, 4x4s, SUVs and light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes including long wheel base vans.

On arrival at the scene, our recovery technician will assess the situation. In most circumstances you’ll be back on the road in no time, but in situations where on-site repair is not possible our recovery technician will recover you, any passengers and your vehicle before transporting it for repair or storage at a destination of your choosing.

Our breakdown and recovery service is available in County Antrim, Down and throughout Northern Ireland. Our lines are open 24 hours a day, every day. When you need us, we’ll be there.

Keep safe at the roadside until we arrive.

  • Switch on your hasard lights. With our Northern Ireland whether it’s a good idea to switch on your side lights to give other road users the best chance to see your vehicle.
  • Pull over to a safe place. If you’re on the motorway and can’t make it to an exit or services you’ll need to pull on to the hard shoulder. Park as far to the left as possible and point your wheels left to avoid the car rolling into traffic.
  • If you have reflective clothing, put it on. You and your passengers should exit the vehicle, so long as it is safe to do so, through the left side (passenger side) doors. If you’re travelling with pets it’s usually safer to leave them in the car, making sure the windows are cracked and water is provided.
  • On quieter country roads place a hazard warning triangle 50 yards behind your vehicle on the same side of the road so that other road users can prepare.
  • Move away from the vehicle and the road as far as it is safe to do so.
  • Call Glenside Recovery and let our operator know your location. If you’re in an unfamiliar place and have a smartphone you might be able to find your exact location from it, otherwise our operators will help you to find out where you are.
  • Keep warm, safe and visible until our recovery technician can reach you. Assistance is on the way.
